Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has approved the disbursement of a N350 million bailout fund to Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED) for the clearance of salary arrears, debts and other needs of the institution.

The timely intervention by the State Governor also came with a N50 million increment on the institution’s monthly subvention which stood at an initial N200 million.

Speaking at a meeting with management and members of the College of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) Adeniran Ogunsanya Chapter, Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Tokunbo Wahab, stated that the N350 million bailout was part of Sanwo-Olu’s promises to give education priority.

He said that the funds were to offer relief to the management and staff of the institution, helping to clear inherited debt, unpaid honorarium and personnel cost.

The outgoing Provost, Associate Professor Aina Ladele, expressed satisfaction on the State Governor’s response to the school’s request, and assured that the funds would be used judiciously for the development of the institution.
