Air Peace Passenger Imprisoned For Smoking

An Air Peace passenger whose identity has been kept anonymous, has been handed a two-week jail sentence for smoking onboard last Wednesday.

The act had been committed on the airlines Sharjah, United Arab Emirates flight. This is according to a statement issued by Air Peace.

Stanley Olisa, spokesman for the airline, said that the court gave the convict an option of a N200,000 fine.

The conviction was is made at Ogba Magistrate Court in Lagos on Tuesday, six days after the act was committed.

The passenger was caught by a crew member, Adewale Oyebade who exposed him.

Olisa charged the flying public to pay more attention to and comply with all established flight safety standards as they are in place to ensure their well-being.
