Social media users have again, come for the Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly and its head pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, for the alleged unauthorized use of celebrities to promote the church’s upcoming programme.
A video had surfaced online, showing singer, Davido promoting COZA’s “12 Days of Glory” programme, alongside a young fan and her mother.
Following the backlash received from the artiste’s fans, he took to his instagram page to debunk the claims that he was paid to promote the programme, saying he was fraudulently approached.
Singers Tiwa Savage and Wizkid had followed suit via their official Twitter handles to accuse the church of unauthorized use of their videos to promote their programme.
This did not go down well with the artistes’ fans who have been attacking the church and Pastor Fatoyinbo on Twitter.

@omojuwa tweeted: “Davido, Wizkid and Tiwa Savage all went to Abuja for a day, may be two and then allegedly had their voices used for videos with intentions they didn’t consent to. I’d be shocked if I didn’t know better. COZA should organise a ’12 Days of CONSENT’ revival programme.”
@yarkafanchan tweeted: “While Davido’s explanation may not fit, it is important to note the real victory here. What is the real victory? That Biodun Fatoyinbo And COZA are such a tarnished brand that people will jump through hoops to dissociate themselves from both.
I consider this victory.”
@ogbenidipo tweeted: “Davido, Wizkid and Tiwa were all allegedly deceived. Their handlers have to share the blame for not doing their due diligence. But this is just a shame on COZA and Biodun.”
@solar_unique tweeted: “Apparently wizkid is not subbing David, he was also recorded in a COZA fraudulent video, Tiwa was recorded too. Mehn! Everything about Abbey is fraudulent. Asked celebs to talk about God, then used them to promote your event and launder your damaged reputation. Mad o!”
@allezamani tweeted: “Yes @davido made the video not for promotional purposes but out of Friendship request from Elizabeth Omale inorder to give her an edge In wining an on going competition in the church.
What I see here is, the head Minister of COZA has a problem with CONSENT, he hates CONSENT!”
