Alleged Car Theft: Court Strikes Out Case Against Naira Marley

Africa News24 earlier reported that fast-rising singer Naira Marley was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Naira Marley, known for his single ‘Issa Goal,’ recently came under fire by renowned rapper, Ruggedman, for promoting Internet fraud in his music.

The car theft charges filed against singer, Azeez Fashola, a.k.a Naira Marley, has been withdrawn by the Police on Tuesday.

The prosecution told the magistrate at a Lagos Magistrates’ Court, Mr Tajudeen Elias, that the defendants and the complainant in the case, Mr Adenekan Ademola, had resolved to settle the matter out of court.

Mr Elias therefore struck out the charges against Marley and his two siblings, Idris and Babatunde Fashola; and cousin, Kunle Obere.

They were charged with four counts of conspiracy, stealing, assault and obstructing the police.

The magistrate, Mr Tajudeen Elias, had threatened to issue a warrant for the arrest of the singer after he failed to show up at his December 31st, 2019 hearing.
