Counsel to former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki; Olukayode Ariwoola on Thursday, withdrew his application protesting his (Dasuki) continued trial without being released from illegal custody.
The withdrawal, according to Ariwoola, happened because of Dasuki’s release last month.
Prosecuting counsel, Mr. Dipo Okpeseyi (SAN) had no objection.
Sambo made his first appearance in Court on Thursday since his release from custody four years after his arrest.
He had been detained despite being granted bail on several occasions.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had charged him with money laundering and illegal possession of firearms, charges to which he pled not guilty to.
Presiding over a Federal High Court in Abuja, Justice Mohammed struck out the application and adjourned the matter till 11th and 12th for trial.
