The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has called for the Nigerian army to leave the home of Nnamdi Kanu as the date of his parents’ burial draws near.

In a statement signed by its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Chuks Ibegbu, the group asked that military presence around the home town of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu be reduced so as not to cause panic.

It urged the army to focus its energy on combatting terrorism instead of creating “panic in peaceful communities.”

It said, “I expect our army to concentrate in fighting tje Insurgents and not to create panic in peaceful communities.”
