Social media users are reacting to the Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed’s claims that the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) will compete with Cable News Network (CNN) after getting funded with $500m loan.
The minister had said that if the loan was approved, the NTA could be upgraded to enable it to send out signals that would be at par with CNN, “because we have the manpower and the technology.”
Twitter users mocked Mohammed’s claims, called him a liar and said the comparison will never happen.

The year is 2020 and Lai Mohammed still hasn't changed with his lavish talks.
Which country in their right senses will approve $500m to transform any of their TV stations?
I know our politicians are slow upstairs but he really must be joking to put NTA & CNN in the same sentence

I agreed with Uncle Lai Mohammed that NTA needs overhauling and total reorientation.
The question is why do we have NTA is all 36 states? Total waste of money.
Use the Aljazeera model, One main studio in Abuja and use correspondents in all 36 states
