Two Stabbed, Four Arrested As Traders Clash In Ogun

The police authorities in Ogun State have said that two persons were stabbed in a clash between Yoruba and Hausa traders at Lafenwa market in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The police also said that four arrests were made after the clash.

Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi confirmed the incident on Thursday, affirming that no lives were lost.

The cause of the violence was a rumoured death of a Hausa traders believed to have been killed by Yorubas.

Oyeyemi said, “The violence broke out when some Hausa petty traders refused to pay the mandatory daily market levy to the market miscreants.

“There is no death recorded. Two people were injured.

“Those who are involved in the crime will be dealt with seriously; they will face the full weight of the law.”
