Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe has responded to the backlash received from her controversial Youtube video where she advised ladies to milk married men financially.
In the youtube video, the entrepreneur said “If you are a side chic to a married man, Girl, you are better be cashing out. Secure the bag, get that dough, get that money because that man isn’t yours. Sis, he isn’t yours. He belongs to another woman so please it had better be worth it. Don’t go and collect chocolate and flowers as gifts from a married man oh.
“If you do, your head needs to be examined. If you are dating a married man, chop his money, collect his money because that man is already married. So stupid girls will be dating a married man will be doing love…sis he is not yours. He belongs to another woman so use your brain”
Responding to the criticisms, Aigbe posted a video on her Instagram page, saying she would never encourage ladies to date married men for money and that the video was taken out of context by mischief makers.
“The video was meant to be fun but people didn’t get the message. Bloggers cropped out that part for mischievous purposes.
” I always tell women that those material things that they are hoping to acquire by sleeping with married men, they can get by working hard. There is dignity in labour. I can proudly say that everything I own is strictly from my sweat,” part of her statement read.
