Drug Trafficking: Nigerian Islamic Cleric Freed In Saudi

An Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim Ibrahim, has been discharged and acquitted by a criminal court in Saudi Arabia after being accused of drug trafficking.

Zamfara Commissioner of Special Duties, Alhaji Mohammed Saddiq, told journalists on Tuesday that Ibrahim, who was on death row, was now a free man.

The commissioner said “It is evident that Ibrahim required the services of advocates which Governor Bello Mohammed swiftly handled by employing a team of Lawyers for Ibrahim and constituted a delegation, including a lawyer representing the National Commission on Diaspora from the Federal Ministry of Justice, to Saudi Arabia to monitor the proceeding.”
