Forgery: Court Orders DSS To Investigate Bayelsa Deputy Governor

The Department of State Security (DSS) has been ordered to investigate an allegation of ceritificate forgery levelled against the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

The order came after an All Progressives Congress Chieftain, Benjamin Youdiowei, approached the Area Court in Abuja, accusing Ewhrudjakpo of presenting a forged National Youth Service Corps Exemption Certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The Presiding Judge, Abubakar Sadiq terminated the order of investigation given to the police in respect of the allegation and ordered the DSS to investigate it.

Justice Sadiq had on November 27, 2019, issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Ewhrudjakpo following his absence from the court for the proceeding.
