The Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke Osanyintolu, on Friday said there was no loss of lives at the scene of an accident that occured at Maryland, Ikeja Lagos.
There were reports earlier that an accident had occured along the aforementioned route, causing heavy gridlock.
Giving a situation report, Osanyintolu said “upon arrival at the scene of incident, it was discovered that a tanker with registration number YAB 293-YJ loaded with approximately 49,000 ltrs of pms broke down.
“It further transpired that its contents were spilling from one of its rear compartment resulting in the obstruction of vehicular activity.
“There was no loss of life nor injury sustained at the scene. LRT, Lastma, police and LASG fire service were first responders at the scene as the entire area was cordoned off and blanketed to prevent any secondary incident.”
