Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi has been suspended for six months over the brutaility of a fellow monarch, the Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Sikrulahi Akinropo.

The decision was made on Friday by the Osun State Council of Traditional Rulers headed by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi.

The meeting was held at the Osun State Government Secretariat, Abere, where a committee headed by Orangun of Ila, Oba Wahab Adedotun, was also set up by the council to further investigate the matter involving Oluwo and Obas in Iwo land.

The Oluwo had earlier denied the assault claims and dismissed them as “mere altercation”.
