Media personality and Blogger, Noble Igwe has received criticism over a tweet in regards to caring for parents at their old age.

The CEO of 360 Group had tweeted: The biggest scam ever invented by parents was / is making their children send them money in their own age.

“I repeat, you don’t owe your parents anything.
They were here before you and should have prepared for old age. Parents are always taking and taking. Stop the pressure!”

What most social media users did not know was that the tweet was meant to take a swipe at those normalizing strange trends, otherwise known as “being woke”.

Responding to the criticism, Igwe wrote: “Dear people, what are we accusing our parents of today?”

He had earlier tweeted about not calling one’s parents by their first names instead of “Mummy and Daddy”.

“It’s 2020 and people still call their parents “ Daddy and Mummy”.
For people with given names, why are people still referring to them as “Mum and Dad”?
Break free for old culture and traditions, your parents are humans and all humans are equal.
Let me call Charity Igwe now sef,” he tweeted.
