Court Adjourns Sowore’s Case Till April 1

Tobi Adebayo

The trial of SaharaReporters Publisher and Convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare has been adjourned till April 1 by the Federal High Court, Abuja.

Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu postponed the case after the counsel to the defendant, Mr Femi Falana (SAN), raised an objection that the first Principal Witness of the Federal Government, Mr Rasheed Olawale, was testifying on issues outside of his written testimony.

She held that it would be wrong for the court to allow the witness to give a shred of 10-paged oral evidence after deposing a four-paragrahed statement and directed the prosecution counsel to serve full statements of all the proposed witnesses on the defendants.
