Popular Nigerian gospel artiste, Lanre Teriba known as Atorise, was attacked by unknown gunmen over the weekend.
The gospel singer narrowly escaped being killed as he was attacked by the gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Saturday night at the Berger end of Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Atorise was admitted at an undisclosed hospital where he is being treated for the head injuries he sustained from the attackers.
The singer was said to be returning from an engagement where he had gone to perform when the incident happened.
Atorise while reacting to the incident said that him being still alive is a miracle, stating that he was only revived to life after he was rushed to the hospital as he had earlier passed out as a result of the devastating effect of the deadly weapon unleashed on him by his attackers.
The singer rose to stardom in 2000 with his debut album, Atorise (Reformer).
He spent most of his childhood at church in Ogun state where he discovered his vocal gift.
At eighteen, Teriba left home to pursue an Accounting Degree at Federal Poly Chapter Offa in Kwara State.
