Sanusi Won’t Challenge His Dethronement In Court, Says Loko Monarch

Dethronement: Sanusi Apprehended, Whisked Out Of Kano State

The Traditional Head of Loko, Nasarawa state, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed Sabo has said that the former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II told him ‘’he will not challenge his dethronement in court’’.

Speaking with BBC Hausa on Wednesday, he claimed that the former Emir had accepted destiny and had no plans to challenge the dethronement in court.

Emir Sanusi who stayed a night in Loko before moving to Awe reportedly contacted the new Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero congratulating him on his ascension of the throne.
Commenting on why the former Emir moved from Loko to Awe after one he said the village lacked social amenities needed to make the Emir comfortable.

“Emir (Sanusi) is too big for this place. What I mean is that, Emir Sanusi is a high ranking personality. He is supposed to be under air conditioner, but we don’t have electricity to give him that’’ he said.

“We received him very well, but with mix feelings. We were sad because of what happened to him, because when your fellow human being is in this kind of situation, you are expected to be with him in that situation with him, but, we were happy that, our village came to limelight; that, of all the cities in Nigeria, it was Loko that was chosen for him to come to.”

“He was not disturbed at all, in fact, he slept very well. He accepted his destiny. He even said, he will not challenge his dethronement in court. He also called the people to support the new Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero. In fact, he sent text message congratulating the new Emir and the new Emir replied him.”

Emir Sanusi does not have any regret, “because he said he did not commit any offence” said the monarch.
