President Muhammadu Buhari, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, Bukola Saraki, Reno Omokri amongst others have come out to sympathized with Senator Ben Murray-Bruce who lost his wife to cancer on Friday.
President Buhari in a condolence message signed by his spokesman, Femi Adesina, shared his heartfelt sorrow with the senator and urged the family to take solace in the quality of life she lived.
“President Muhammadu Buhari shares heartfelt sorrow with Senator Ben Murray-Bruce on the loss of his wife of 41 years, Evelyn.
“The President prays God to comfort the Senator, who represented Bayelsa East in the 8th Assembly, the children left by the deceased, and the entire family.
“Urging them to take solace in the quality of life lived by the departed, President Buhari beseeches God to soothe their pains, and grant succour to all those who mourn Mrs Evelyn Murray-Bruce” the statement said.
All Progressives Congress National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, expressed his sympathy over the loss of Senator Murray-Bruce’s wife who died while battling with cancer.
A condolence message was released by Tinubu’s Media Office and signed by Tunde Rahman. Asiwaju Tinubu said in the message: “Please accept my deepest sympathy and condolences over the passing of your beloved wife, Evelyn.
“Losing an intimate person like a wife can be very painful. But please take solace in the life she lived and the sweet memories of the time you shared while alive.
“Like you said in your tweet, cancer should not be a death sentence. Together, we must all help to scale up awareness on the need for constant checks for early detection and immediate and continuous treatment.
“Please know that our thoughts are with you at this moment. My prayer is that God grant your wife eternal rest and give you, the children and all the people she left behind the strength to carry on after her.”
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and controversial author and lawyer, Reno Omokri took to their Twitter accounts to commiserate with the senator.
“My good friend and brother, @benmurraybruce, on behalf of my family, I extend our deepest condolences. Your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May her beautiful soul rest in peace. -AA” Atiku tweeted
