The Lagos State Government has advised commercial banks to prioritise online services following the outbreak of Coronavirus in the state.
The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said this on Tuesday in a press conference where he ordered the closure of markets except for those selling essential items.
The governor said “It is only when you are alive that you can talk about economics and finance.” He also urged the private sector to let their staff work from home.
Sanwo-Olu encouraged banks and other financial institutions to prioritise online channels for their staff services to the public and only key staff should be physically present.
He said: “Banks and other financial institutions are encouraged to prioritise online channels for their services to the public with only essential key staff being in the office during this time. Only key staff should be present.”
