President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate closure of international airports and land borders for four weeks.
The directive was issued on Thursday, as part of measures by the federal government to curtail the spread of coronavirus in the country.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s cases of the virus rose to 65 on Thursday evening as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, announced 14 new cases of the virus.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, via their official Twitter handle wrote;
“14 new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 12 in Lagos.”
“Of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria & 1 is close contact of a confirmed case.”
“As at 7:35 pm 26th March, there are 65 confirmed cases, 3 discharged and 1 death,” NCDC tweeted.
