The Kano State Government has announced plans for total lock-down of the state in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.
Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje made the announcement via a tweet on his verified Twitter handle on Thursday.
The tweet revealed that all routes in and out of the state will be shut, including the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport from Friday, March 27, 2020.
He said the option of total lock-down had become imperative with growing concerns among its citizens.
The state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, noted that although his administration had put up measures to manage the pandemic but a total lock-down was needed as a preventive tool.
“To contain and reduce the spread of the COVID – 19 virus, we have decided to implement a total lockdown of the state. From March 27, all routes in and out of Kano will be shut, including the Mallam Aminu Kano Airport. Please stay home and let us fight this virus together.” the tweet read.
He further called on residents of the state to help the government in its fight against the pandemic.
