The State House has begun fumigation of Aso Rock villa amid the outbreak of coronavirus in the Federal State Capital, Abuja.
The fumigation of the State House including the office of the President began on Thursday morning.
The exercise started at about 9:30 am and would be carried out through the entire stretch of offices within the State House quarters.
The fumigators were dressed in white overalls, masked and heavily kitted.
A source from the State House said at about 11:30am, the fumigation process had reached the main building, where the office of the President is located.
“These people are not from the Villa. They came from outside from the town, Abuja city. They are dressed in complete white overalls, masked and wear other protective gears”, the source said.
He said “The dressing is similar to how the National Centre for Disease Control people wear their protective gears.”
An anonymous official of the State House, said that he believed the decision to cut down on the number of officials gaining access into the premises must have been the reason.
The fumigation of Aso Rock villa came barely few days after the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, and three of his staff tested positive for Coronavirus disease.
