Nigerian business man and philanthropist, Aliko Dangote is set to donate a 600-bed isolation centre to the Kano State Government.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State announced this on Sunday at the inauguration of a 38 member fund raising committee for COVID-19.
He said that the state was doing all it could to prevent the pandemic and declared a one-day fasting for residents to pray against coronavirus.
“I call on Kano people to observe fasting today, March 30, and 5th Sha’aban and pray hard against the outbreak of coronavirus in our dear state.
“I also call on people to intensify prayers because prayer is the best fire for this disease,” he said
Ganduje said the isolation centre would be constructed at the 15,000 capacity Sani Abacha Stadium and would serve to complement the two centres meant for quarantine.
Kano is yet to record a single case of the deadly coronavirus.
