The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) have confirmed that their weekly meetings would hold via teleconferencing.
The NGF Chairman, Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, said this in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday.
He said the governors would hold weekly meetings to deliberate on updates on the pandemic across the country.
“To strengthen private sector-led support for the COVID-19 pandemic, the NGF secretariat will serve as the coordination mechanism by tracking the COVID-19 essential needs of all states, including equipment for contact tracing/sample collection, diagnosis and treatment,” added Fayemi.
He said the forum would also be responsible for ensuring that states affected in the lockdown are able to coordinate the movement of essential commodities.
He noted that governors were in touch with the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire; and the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu, for updates relating to the pandemic.
