Nigerians have called on the Federal Government to take civil action against Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele and her husband, JJC Skillz for organising a house party on Saturday. This violates President Muhammadu Buhari’s stay at home and social distancing directives, measures adopted to control the spread of the coronavirus disease.
The party was held in Akindele’s home with guests of over 25 people including hip-hop singer, Naira Marley and Nollywood actress, Eniola Badmas who recently returned from United Kingdom.
Nigerians took to Twitter to express their disappointment at what the couple had done
They described the act as highly irresponsible and disappointing. They described Akindele who is an ambassador to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC and Dettol as a bad example to the nation, and urged the government to arrest them and quarantine everyone who attended the party.
