Residents of Ogun State have been living in fear as robbers have been terrorising some areas since the lockdown imposed on the state by the Federal Government to curtail the community spread of COVID-19.
This has proved to be an opportunity for men of the underworld to perpetrate their crimes in the state.
According to reports, the criminals have been operating both in daylight and night since people are complying with the stay-at-home of order of the authorities.
Residents of Sango-Ota, Agbado Oke, Ijoko, Ado-Odo, Ota, Adiyan and other areas in the state have been constantly terrorised by robbers at night in the past weeks looting them of their properties and cash.
An24.net gathered that residents have appealed to the government and men of the Ogun State police force command to deploy their men to the area for the safety of lives and properties.
However, residents have resolved to protect themselves against the robbers as they await actions from the police force.
In series of tweet on micro-blogging site, Twitter, residents were seen burning tires to create fire as they stayed up all night to protect their neighbourhood in different locations in the state.

It’s disheartening how @PoliceNG in #OgunUnrest has been handling the robbery cases in Ogun environs. Isn’t it enough that the hunger this #stayhome has caused getting to such a despicable height? At such a perilous time in Nigeria, I don’t think our leaders have conscience. pic.twitter.com/9uiSgY8XmR

This is why i refused to go back home and remained in Uyo.
You lock down without considering the mental, social and financial implications.
