Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Suleman Johnson on Friday blamed the increase in deaths on the abandonment of patients in hospitals not suffering from COVID-19.
The cleric made the statement via his verified Twitter handle and urged medics to attend to patients suffering from other ailments.
He wrote: “Patients are dying in hospitals because doctors have focused majorly on those with covid 19. There were pre-existing cases in those hospitals before the pandemic
“This is an absurdity taken to the highest pinnacle. Doctors, please attend to patients with other ailments.”
A Twitter user disagreed with the cleric’s stance and wrote: “I disagree with this view. Majority of hospitals (private & public) are not attending to Covid-19 cases. Private & public hospitals are well open & attending to non covid-19 cases all over Nigeria.”
Responding to the user, Apostle Suleman tweeted: “The 3 hospitals I know are handling covid 19 cases so I don’t understand what you mean. There are 2 notable families who must not see your tweet becos they are mourning their loss now..the doctors refuse to attend to them claiming their focus is covid 19.”
