President Muhammadu Buhari observed the Eid al-Fitr prayers with members of his household on Sunday morning at the Presidential Villa, Abuja
His wife, Aisha, son, Yusuf, and other children were spotted attending the prayer session with Buhari.
In a short message posted on his verified Twitter handle, the president also urged Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of the season.
He said, “Even as we mark the successful end of the Ramadan, and the commemoration of Eid-el-Fitr, we are doing so mindful of the times we are in.
“Let us continue to reflect on the lessons and virtues of this season, and sustain them beyond the celebrations. I wish you all Eid Mubarak.”
The President had on Friday advised Muslims to mark the occasion at home in compliance with the measures put in place in the Federal Capital Territory to guard against the spread COVID-19.
Buhari had also barred any form of Sallah homage to the State House by government officials and other groups.
