Two police officers have been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for the death of a 17-year-old girl, Tina Ezekwe.
The officers, ASP Theophilus Otobo and Inspector Oguntoba Olamigoke attached to Bariga Police Station were arrested for shooting Tina and one other.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
According to reports, the Police Officers fired shots from their pin down point along Berger by third mainland bridge.
The shots reportedly hit one 35-year-old Musa Yakubu and Tina at Berger, Yanaworu Bus stop.
The bullet pierced through the left upper side of Tina’s lap and was rushed to hospital by a team of Policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer.
However, the struggle to safe her life lasted for two days where she unfortunately died on 28th May, 2020 at the hospital where she was admitted.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Hakeem Odumosu had ordered an in depth investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the girl.
The officers suspected to have carried out the shooting were arrested and subjected to internal disciplinary proceedings and would be charged to court if found culpable.
The Command deeply sympathised with the family and friends of the deceased.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner calls for calm and assures the family that the perpetrators of this dastardly act would face the full weight of the law.
