Governor Godwin Obaseki on Sunday said he would make his next move public after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Obaseki was disqualified from participating in the All Progressives Congress (APC), primary election in the state by the party screening committee on Friday, June 12.
The party disqualified over discrepancies in his school certificate and other results.
Obaseki in a tweet on his Twitter handle on Sunday wrote, “I appreciate the sustained show of solidarity, support and goodwill from Edo people and Nigerians in the face of injustice by the @OfficialAPCNg screening committee.
“I will be making my next move known after I complete consultations with my supporters and meet with @MBuhari.”
Meanwhile, Governor Obaseki on Sunday arrived in Port Harcourt to meet with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.
The meeting might be unconnected with Obaseki’s planned defection to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the gubernatorial election scheduled for September 19 in the state.
