Delta Records Highest COVID-19 Cases In A Day

Delta State on Wednesday recorded 166 new cases of coronavirus disease in the state.

This was confirmed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC in a tweet on Wednesday.

NCDC tweeted, “790 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Delta-166, Lagos-120, Enugu-66, FCT-65, Edo-60, Ogun-43, Kano-41, Kaduna-39, Ondo-33, Rivers-32, Bayelsa-29, Katsina-21, Imo-20, Kwara-18, Oyo-11, Abia-10, Benue-6, Gombe-4, Yobe-2, Bauchi-2, Kebbi-2

“26,484 confirmed, 10,152 discharged, 603 deaths.”

The new 166 cases brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 1131.

Meanwhile, the State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and his wife, Edith have tested positive for COVID-19.

Governor Okowa made the announcement on his verified Twitter account on Wednesday.

He tweeted; “My wife and I have tested positive for COVID-19. We are well and continuing with our isolation/medication. We thank you all for your continued prayers for us and our daughter.”
