BREAKING: Direct Your Bail Request To Panel, Not Me – IGP Tells Magu



The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has expressed sadness over the slow pace of action from the government of United Kingdom, (UK) on the corruption case, involving former Petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, on Wednesday asked the counsel for the embattled former acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, Tosin Ojaomo, to direct the request for his client’s bail to the Presidential panel investigating his activities in office.

Magu who is being investigated over corruption allegations by a special presidential panel, had last week written the IGP requesting to be granted bail through his lawyer Ojaomo.

Magu in the lawyer’s letter dated July 10 requested that he should be granted bail “on self-recognisance”.
