Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has broken his silence over a video of some People’s Democratic Party leaders vowing not to betray him.

The action took place during a meeting attended by ward leaders and executives in the Ijero council area of Ekiti State.

In the video, the party members could be heard saying death should be the consequences if any of them ever betrayed the former Governor.

However, Fayose, through his media aide, Lere Olayinka denied that there was any form of oath taking during the meeting.

“There was no oath-taking anywhere. Did you see Fayose in that video? Did you see any object like Bible, Quran or iron? If no, how does that amount to oath-taking,” he said.

Also, a former Ekiti state PDP chairman, Olu Ojo said the action was an affirmation of loyalty to their leader, Fayose.

“There was nothing secret. It was an open meeting. It was not oath-taking because in the course of activities, there was no Bible, Quran, iron, blood or any other object to swear with,” Ojo argued
