The Nigerian Army on Thursday said a trooper suffering from depression on Wednesday shot an officer dead in Borno State.
The erring officer serving in 202 Battalion of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, Borno State was said to have shot his colleague dead around 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 29.
According to a statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa, the erring officer approached the deceased where he was making a phone case infront of the Unit’s Headquarters and shot him dead.
The statement added that the soldier had been arrested while investigation was undergoing to determine the circumstances that led to the unfortunate incident.
The remains of the deceased officer has been evacuated to 7 Division Medical Services and Hospital.
Musa said the family of the deceased had been contacted.
