The Lagos State Police Command on Thursday detained controversial Nigerian hip-hop star, Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley.
He was alleged to have contravened COVID-19 safety guidelines set by the Federal Government.
The musician had been in the news in June for travelling to Abuja from Lagos with a private charter flight during COVID-19 lockdown to perform at a concert.
The concert which held at the Jabi Lake Mall on Saturday, June 13th, was in contravention of the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force directive on social gatherings.
The concert was put together by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar, El’Carnival, sponsored by Glenfiddich, and was anchored by a former Big Brother Naija housemate, Kim Oprah.
Naira Marley reportedly presented himself to the Lagos State Police Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, on Thursday but was detained for questioning over his action.
