Ekiti State on Sunday recorded 17 new cases of the ravaging coronavirus disease.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, confirmed the new cases in a tweet via its official Twitter account.
The new cases brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 178.
NCDC tweeted; “437 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-107, FCT-91, Plateau-81, Kaduna-32, Ogun-30, Kwara-24
Ebonyi-19, Ekiti-17, Oyo-8, Borno-6, Edo-6, Kano-4, Nasarawa-3, Osun-3, Taraba-3, Gombe-2, Bauchi-1.”
Meanwhile, the State Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Sunday tweeted that he had totally recovered from the virus after his second confirmatory test came back negative.
He wrote, “Back to the grind. Second test negative. I’m now definitely free of COVID-19. Thanks to all for your support. And my condolences to Senator Kashamu’s family. May his sins be forgiven and may Allah grant him Aljanah Firdausi. JKF.”
