Onigbongbo LCDA Boss Didn’t Die Of COVID-19 – Aide

The Chief Press Secretary to the deceased Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Government, Ishmaeel Akerele, has denied that his principal, Babatunde Oke died of complications from the coronavirus disease.

A statement signed by Akerele on Wednesday said his boss, died after a brief illness in the early hours of Wednesday.

The statement read, “Sequel to the widespread rumour that Hon. Babatunde Oke died of COVID-19 complications, I wish to state emphatically that the former executive chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA died after a brief illness.

“While we reflect on the passing of a great leader and astute politician, rumour mongers must not use this medium to distract his immediate families and political associates from the peaceful mourning the late Hon. Babatunde Oke deserves.

“I pray that almighty God grant his household the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

“And may his soul rest in peace as we continue to reflect on the life and times of late Hon. Babatunde Oke.”
