Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has said that he funded the governorship election campaign of the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole.
Obaseki made the claim during a live debate between him and the APC governorship candidate, Pastor Ize-Iyamu.
The governor claimed that Oshiomhole was broke as a former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress and couldn’t afford to sponsor his governorship campaign.
He also claimed that he drew the blueprint used by Oshiomhole during his tenure, hence the reason the former governor could trust him to continue implementing the plan for the state.
Reacting to the claim, Ize-Iyamu said Obaseki contributed the sum of N100,000 only, as opposed to the governor’s claim that he funded the campaign.
