The governorship election in Edo State has witnessed impressive voters’ turnout in most wards across the state.
Our correspondent who monitored voting process in various wards also noted that there was widespread disregard for COVID-19 protocols including social distancing and the use of face masks.
The crowd went into at frenzy at Oredo, Ward 4 in Benin City as Governor Godwin Obaseki and his wife, Betsy cast their votes.
A voter at Uromi applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials for arriving on time. He said “We waited for nearly three hours the last time before voting materials arrived the last time. we are very grateful that this time around, voting materials had arrived before we even got here and we hope it continues this way.”
