The Independent National Electoral Election (INEC) has declared Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the winner of the Ondo state governorship election.
Akeredolu was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday.
Returning Officer of the Commission, Prof. Idowu Olayinka declared Akeredolu winner and said that he had met all conditions required to be returned as governor-elect for the state.
The Governor polled a total of 292,830 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Eyitayo Jegede, who polled 195,791 votes.
He defeated Jegede in 12 of the 18 Local Government Areas where the election held.
