Bashir Ahmad, one of the aides of President Muhammadu Buhari has said that no executive order is needed to disband the Federal Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS).

Ahmad said this in response to #EndSARS campaigners who insisted on not backing down unless Buhari issued an executive order to effect the disbandment by the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu.

Ahmad tweeted: “The defunct SARS was a unit of the Police, it was an administrative creation of the IG of Police, not created by any executive order or legislative act.

“We actually don’t need an executive order to fully disband the unit when the IGP with full authority has already disbanded it.”
