The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 165 new cases of coronavirus disease in Lagos state.
The new cases were confirmed in a tweet via the official Twitter account of the NCDC on Tuesday.
The new cases brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 20, 251.
NCDC tweeted, “225 new cases of #COVID19Nigeria; Lagos-165, FCT-17, Rivers-13, Ogun-12, Niger-8, Delta-4, Ondo-2, Anambra-1, Edo-1, Ekiti-1, Kaduna-1.
“60,655 confirmed, 52,006 discharged, 1,116 deaths.”
Meanwhile, the Chairman, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has said that Nigerians should anticipate a second wave of the coronavirus disease.
He said this in a task force briefing of the taskforce in Abuja on Monday.
Mustapha said, “We wish to reiterate that federating units have the responsibility of determining the dates and modalities for the safe reopening, while the Federal Government provides the guidelines.”
Mustapha, who is also the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), said that the picture across the world on COVID-19 pandemic showed that Nigerians should not lower their guards.
