Police Declare Man Wanted For Murder

The Ogun State Police Command has declared a man suspected to be a cultist wanted for the gruesome murder of an automobile mechanic.

The suspect, simply identified as Bobo was said to have been terrorising Igbesa and its environs.

A statement from the command on Sunday said the suspect was declared wanted for killing a mechanic, Salaudeen Lawal.

According to the statement, the deceased who was fixing a faulty vehicle by the road side was accused of obstructing the road by Bobo and his friends.

Argument was said to have ensued between them, consequent upon which the suspect, Bobo broke a bottle and stabbed the deceased on his hand.

The statement read, Distress call was made to the police at Igbesa divisional headquarters and the DPO, Abayomi Adeniji led his men to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital where he gave up the ghost while receiving treatment.

“The suspect, having realised what he did took to flight immediately but one of his accomplice had been arrested and he is helping the police in their investigation.”

The state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun had ordered a manhunt for the suspect.

He also directed that the case be taken over by the homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
