Three Armed Robbers Nabbed During Operation

The men of the Ogun State Police Command has arrested three robbery gang for terrorising Iju Ota and its environs.

The suspects, Bamidele Oluwashina, Adebowale  Kehinde and Oluwasegun Abayomi were arrested on Thursday following a distress call received by the police at Onipanu Divisional Headquarters at about 9:30 pm.

Upon the distress call, the  DPO Onipanu division, Bamidele Ishola Job mobilised his patrol team to the scene and engaged the robbers in gun duel.

A statement from the command on Sunday said the hoodlums took to their heels but one of them was arrested at the scene.

“The entire area was cordoned off while police intensified search for other members of the gang with the help of members of the community, two other members of the gang were sighted trying to escape in a tricycle and they were promptly arrested.

Recovered from them were one cut to size locally made pistol and two live cartridges.

The state Commissioner of Police, Edward Awolowo Ajogun had ordered the transfer of the suspects to state criminal investigation and intelligence department for discreet investigation.
