The Lagos State Police Command has shut down Cubana nightclub, Ikeja GRA, over failure to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines.
The facility was shut down around 12 am with club goers escorted out of the building by the Police.
The operation was led by the State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu.
The development was announced in a tweet by Gboyega Akosile, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Sharing pictures from the exercise, Akosile wrote, “Just in: @followlasg @lagossafety and @PoliceNG Lagos State Command sealed off Cubana night club for disobeying the State’s #COVID19 protocols.”
The exercise came barely a day after Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu re-imposed COVID-19 restrictions in the state.
He noted that concerts, carnivals and street parties are banned in Lagos State until further notice, just as night clubs have not been allowed to open yet, noting that “all night clubs in Lagos must immediately shut down, until further notice.”
