The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday paraded no fewer than 243 COVID-19 violators.
The violators were arrested during a raid on some clubs by the Command across the state on Friday.
The State Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu, said he had observed that many Lagosians have disregard for compliance with COVID-19 protocols across the state which has been so worrisome due to the consequences of such lackadaisical attitudes on our health status and the spread of the rampaging pandemic in the State.
The clubs raided included Lounge 38, Bode Thomas Surulere and Club Victoria’s while six were arrested for violating the Federal Government imposed 12 midnight to 4am curfew in the state.
He said the Command wishes to reiterate its zeal and commitment to due and total enforcement of COVID-19 protocols and orders including the Federal Government 12 midnight to 4am curfew.
Odumosu said the suspects will be arraigned with immediate effect.
He warned club owners to comply with the State Government’s directive of immediate and total closure of clubs as they will not only be prosecuted but may have to recommend to the State Government the stringent punishment of confiscation of the C of O of the club has it has been observed that most of the club houses were not initially built and approved to be used as club houses by Lagos State Government.
