Pipeline Vandals Flee From Approaching Civil Defence Operatives

Pipeline vandals took to their heels as they saw approaching operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. This took place at Ogere, Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.

It was gathered that the vandals abandoned their tools including 302 empty jerry cans when they sighted the NSCDC operatives on Wednesday.

A statement on Thursday by the spokesperson of the NSCDC in the state, Ogbonnaya Dyke said that the vandals escaped into the bush after sighting the corps, abandoned their tools and the Jerry cans they had planned to use to scoop fuel from vandalised pipelines in Ogere Area of the state.

He said “A patrol team of the NSCDC Command in the state stormed Ogere on Wednesday and met the jerry cans abandoned by the vandals.

“The Commandant of NSCDC in the state, Mr Hammed Abodunrin has stated that though none of the suspected vandals were arrested, the Command is still working towards their arrest and vowed that they would use all available tactics to curb attacks on the pipelines across the state.
