Nigerians Consume 587 Million Condoms Annually –Report
The Aids Healthcare Foundation in conjunction with the the National Agency for the Control of AIDS and NOIPolls, has released a report saying Nigerians consume about 587 million condoms yearly.
But the report also says Nigeria needs a minimum of 1.15 billion condoms yearly if it must bring down cases of sexually transmitted diseases.

The report which was unveiled by the Prevention Programme Manager , AHF , Adeleye Taofik, partly reads:
“The gap between current condom use ( 587 million ) and total need ( 1 .15 billion) to achieve ninety percent ( 90 per cent) coverage is 564 million condoms annually.”
According to the report, North – Central, South- South and South- East use more condoms than any other region in the country. Their percentages of use are at 44 , 42 , 40 percent respectively.
The report which says males use condoms more than females say the South-West, North -East and North – West have 38, 26, and 22 percentages respectively in their use of condoms.
