The Nigeria Basketball Federation has dedicated victories against the United States and Argentina to the late Nigerian singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi better known as Sound Sultan.
Sound Sultan who was a basketball enthusiast died of throat cancer on Sunday at the age of 44.
The Nigeria Basketball Federation in a tweet said, ”You saw this day coming when Nigeria would become a dominant force in global basketball. Ironically, the day we won against @usabasketball, was when you gave up the ghost.”
Sound Sultan played basketball while in school and in 2015, he acquired a stake in the Lagos Islanders, a Lagos-based basketball club founded in 1984.
