The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, has confirmed 637 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The new cases bring the total number of cases in the country to 188,880.
The NCDC via its verified website on Thursday said the country also recorded seven deaths.
The agency stated that the new cases were reported in 18 states and the FCT.
The NCDC noted that Lagos state recorded the highest infections with 322, Rivers-70, Edo-54, Delta-34, Akwa Ibom-31, Kwara-31, FCT-29, Ekiti-17, Ogun-14, Osun-10, Kebbi-8, Cross River-5, Plateau-3, Taraba-3, Kaduna-2, Bayelsa-2, Benue, Enugu, and Kano, reported one each.
It said that over 2,727,834 million samples of the virus out of the nation’s roughly 200 million population were tested, with an average test positivity rate of six per cent.
